Accounting services in Greece

Books that close properly—and explain the business.

Outsourced accounting for companies that need more than transaction entry. We maintain the accounting record, reconcile the evidence behind it and turn the monthly close into a dependable starting point for tax, cash management and board reporting.

Who it is for

For companies that need a close, not just bookkeeping.

The service fits management teams that need the statutory record and the operating numbers to agree. It can replace a fragmented external arrangement or strengthen an internal finance person with a documented close process.

01

Management waits for the numbers

The P&L arrives late, changes after circulation or cannot be reconciled to cash, receivables and payables.

02

myDATA and the ledger drift apart

Transmission gaps, classifications or missing documents are corrected reactively rather than reviewed as part of the close.

03

Growth has outpaced the process

More entities, currencies, payment methods or transaction volume have made spreadsheets and informal handoffs fragile.

04

Investors or lenders need evidence

The company needs a consistent ledger, reconciliations and a clear audit trail before diligence or financing conversations.

Scope

Exactly what the accounting engagement covers.

The final responsibility matrix follows your entity type, accounting framework, activity and systems. A standard recurring scope normally includes the following work.

Included in the recurring service

Transaction accounting

Recording and classification of approved sales, purchases, expenses, cash and bank activity in the agreed accounting system.

Balance-sheet control

Bank, receivables, payables and selected control-account reconciliations, with an exceptions list for unresolved items.

myDATA alignment

Monitoring transmitted data and classifications, investigating differences and coordinating corrections using the applicable transmission route.

Monthly close

A close checklist covering cut-off, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and other agreed entries, followed by a review of unusual movements.

Core management accounts

Monthly trial balance, P&L and balance sheet in the agreed structure, plus receivables and payables ageing where data permits.

Accounting file and audit trail

Consistent storage of workpapers, reconciliations, approvals and evidence supporting material entries.

Deliverables

What you receive and when.

The close day is agreed after we understand transaction volume, dependencies and the quality of source data. The target becomes part of the operating calendar.

Working process

A close process both teams can see.

The work is organised around cut-offs, evidence and named approvals. That makes delays diagnosable and prevents unresolved items from silently rolling forward.

Greek systems

Greek accounting systems and obligations in view.

The applicable obligations depend on legal form, accounting system, VAT status, activity and transaction profile. We confirm the company-specific calendar during onboarding.

myDATA is a tax-data platform, not a substitute for a complete accounting ledger. We reconcile transmissions and classifications to the underlying books rather than treating platform totals as the close.

AADE myDATA electronic books

Revenue and expense summaries, transaction classifications and relevant adjustment entries are monitored against the accounting record.

Official AADE myDATA information

ERP, accounting and e-invoicing route

We work with the agreed commercial or accounting system and the applicable route—ERP, provider, timologio or another permitted method—without forcing a software change where controls are adequate.

Greek Accounting Standards and accounting records

Books, supporting records, chart-of-accounts logic and year-end schedules are maintained according to the framework and entity requirements that apply.

VAT and tax data handoff

The close file provides reconciled inputs for applicable VAT, income-tax and withholding work; submission is owned by the tax service when contracted.

FAQs

Before we begin.

Do we have to change accounting software?
Not automatically. We first test whether the current system can support reliable records, access controls, myDATA flows and the reporting detail you need. If a change is justified, migration is proposed as a separate project with its own controls.
Who issues our customer invoices?
That is agreed in the responsibility matrix. Many clients keep commercial approval and invoice creation internally while we control accounting, transmission monitoring and reconciliation. We can only own additional steps when access and approvals are designed safely.
How quickly will the monthly accounts be ready?
The target close day depends on volume, inventory, group reporting and when your team provides complete source data. We agree a realistic deadline after the first diagnostic and report missed inputs against that calendar.
Can you clean up historic books?
Yes, after a diagnostic. Historic remediation is scoped separately because the effort depends on missing evidence, unreconciled balances and filing consequences. We will distinguish what can be corrected, what needs specialist input and what must remain documented as an opening risk.
Will you replace our tax adviser or CFO?
Only if those services are also contracted. Accounting produces the controlled data they need. If you keep existing advisers, we define a regular handoff so each party receives a closed, traceable set of numbers.

Is your accounting ready for the next close?

Tell us about your entities, transaction volume, current software and the last month you consider fully closed. We will identify the information needed to price a clean takeover.
